Welcome to Lac La Chaussee.  This stunning carp fishing lake has been open since 2008 and is set in the middle of the Normandie-Maine Wildlife Park in the beautiful Basse Normandie countryside.

Prior to 2008 the lake had only ever been used for a food source and to drive a mill wheel.  The lake itself dates back to pre Napoleonic times and is at least 200 years old.  When the previous owner took over 2 tonnes of carp up to 35 lbs were added, including mirrors, commons and 7 Koi, and it was opened as a carp fishery.

Since October 2018 the lake has been owned and run by Mike and Amanda Dagnall, Lac La Chaussee is about 12 acres in size and has a large stock of carp to 59lbs.  With 3 double swims, and 2 single swims and a maximum of 6 anglers there is no overcrowding, with each angler having plenty of water to fish.

So a bit about us......

 

Mike has been fishing for over 40 years.  Like many, started out on the canals and rivers which in turn led to several years of match fishing.  Sea fishing has also featured heavily throughout his angling and still continues today.  During the last 20 years Mike has concentrated mainly on carp fishing.  Mike likes to target big fish and has PB's of  51+lbs in the UK, and 72+lbs in France.

 Amanda is fairly new to the whole fishing scene.  First picking a rod up in 2011, she spent the first 12 months only casting on a field while Mike competed with the England Surfcasting Team.  Since starting carp fishing in 2012 Amanda has fallen in love with the sport and has also caught some impressive fish up to 40+lbs in the UK and 71lbs in Europe.
